Expert support for better floor performance.

Floor vibration can affect occupant comfort, sensitive equipment and the intended use of valuable space. Understanding how a structure behaves is the first step towards choosing an effective solution.

CALMFLOOR brings together specialist engineering knowledge, CALM Sim simulation, onsite testing and practical guidance to help you move forward with confidence. Whether you are designing a new building, adapting an existing space or investigating a persistent vibration problem, we work alongside your team to assess where active vibration control can make a meaningful difference.

CALM Sim: explore performance before you commit.

Our CALM Sim software helps assess how CALMFLOOR Active Mass Dampers could improve your floor’s vibration performance.

Using suitable structural model or measured modal data, we evaluate how the floor responds, identify areas requiring targeted control and assess the number and positioning of units needed to achieve your project’s objectives.

This gives engineers and project teams the insight to compare options, develop specifications and assess the predicted benefits of Active Mass Damping. Where vibration requirements drive structural design, it can also identify opportunities to reduce the need for additional steel or concrete, helping bring architectural ambitions to life while supporting cost and embodied carbon targets.

Our team can support the simulation process and discuss access to CALM Sim for specialist consultants.

CALMFLOOR onsite testing: see the difference in your own building.

Experience active vibration control where the problem occurs. For existing buildings, CALMFLOOR offers onsite testing so you can see and measure the improvement before committing to an installation.

Working towards agreed performance objectives, we measure floor response with and without active control. The results, supported by simulation where needed, help establish the number of units required and the most effective installation locations to achieve your target performance.

This gives owners, occupiers and consultants practical evidence to make informed decisions. It can also support a staged rollout, starting with the areas where vibration has the greatest operational impact. Testing can be carried out by CALMFLOOR or, where available, by independent specialists within our network.

Lunch and learn session

Lunch and learns: bring the expertise to your team.

Our presentations and lunch and learn sessions help engineering, design and property teams understand active floor vibration control and where it can add value.

Sessions can cover:

  • How floor vibration affects people, equipment and building use.
  • How active mass damping works and where it is most effective.
  • Simulation, unit positioning and integration into a building.
  • Onsite testing and lessons from completed projects.
  • How active damping can work alongside other vibration solutions.
  • Opportunities to reduce retrofit disruption and additional structural material.

We tailor the discussion to your team’s interests, with time for questions and practical project examples.

Independent expertise through our specialist network.

Every structure and vibration challenge is different. Some projects benefit from a combination of measures and expertise across several disciplines. We work with independent structural dynamics and vibration consultants who can analyse structures, assess potential solutions and, in some cases, undertake their own onsite testing using CALMFLOOR units.

Our wider network includes sector specialists who understand the requirements of offices, laboratories, gyms, healthcare and residential environments. They can advise on integrating vibration control into a fit-out, including underfloor spaces, ceiling voids and fixed furniture.

Where a project calls for advice on applicable legislation, standards or performance criteria, we can help connect your team with appropriate specialists. This supports an assessment that considers the structure, its intended use and the wider project requirements.
