Case study: F1 Arcade gaming experience centre, Boston, USA

 

When 62 F1 driver simulators generated excessive vibration in a tall building in Boston, USA, peak-time restrictions were imposed. Our challenge was to remove these restrictions and resolve the problem fast.

Our UK Technical team flew to the USA within days, conducting tests, structural dynamic FE modelling and simulations that proved CALMFLOOR would bring vibrations to within acceptable levels – without structural intervention, downtime or disruption to operations. 11 AMDs were installed in strategic locations on the floor, reducing vibration instantly by 76% and restoring comfort and calm to neighbouring occupants. All this within just six weeks.

Case study: Multi-use commercial building, London, UK

 

An existing composite steel-concrete office floor set within a multi-use commercial building in London, UK, was experiencing human-induced vibration problems. With conventional structural solutions unviable due to ongoing works, we knew we could significantly reduce vibrations and upgrade floor performance.

AMD units were deployed to significantly reduce excessive floor vibrations and achieved a vibration reduction of almost 75%. CALMFLOOR technology explained

CALMFLOOR AMDs use an inertial mass driven by an electric motor to deliver active vibration control by simultaneously sensing and reducing structural motion continuously. This generates the requisite control force to deliver unprecedented damping force – precisely to the identified hotspots on the floor that need it. Key to it all is CALMFLOOR’s unique ability to control several vibration frequencies simultaneously.

Mounting options
