Hot on the heels of our Degenkolb Engineers agency announcement, we’re excited to share our latest partnership news: McNamara Salvia – another hugely respected leader in structural engineering – is now a CALMFLOOR agent. This collaboration marks another key step in expanding CALMFLOOR’s reach, bringing our pioneering active mass damping (AMD) technology to more architects, engineers and building owners seeking high-performance, sustainable, vibration-controlled environments.

Known for solving complex structural challenges and helping architects build bigger, bolder and better, McNamara Salvia is a name that resonates with ambition. Its addition to CALMFLOOR’s strategic global network signals a fresh opportunity to raise awareness of the transformative power of active vibration control – particularly in ultra-vibration-sensitive environments.

The CALMFLOOR and McNamara Salvia collaboration began in 2024 during a project to reduce problematic floor vibration at F1 Arcade’s new gaming experience space in Boston. The challenge was successfully overcome, and the ease with which the teams worked together to devise and implement the solution made it clear an ongoing partnership would be a natural fit.

Vibration control without compromise

In long-span offices, hospitals, labs and high-rise buildings, vibration issues can impact everything – from how the building functions to how it feels and performs. Traditional vibration fixes typically rely on more steel and concrete, driving up embodied and operational carbon while limiting design freedom.

CALMFLOOR changes all that. As the world’s only active vibration control for floors, our AMD units actively cancel out vibration across multiple frequencies. Installed in hours, with no structural intervention, CALMFLOOR AMDs offer a faster, smarter and more sustainable route to performance-led buildings.

Uniting engineering expertise with active floor performance

With decades of experience in structural design, seismic systems and dynamic analysis, McNamara Salvia brings deep technical credibility to our network. Its teams are already embedded in some of the most complex buildings in the US, where vibration targets are tight and structural creativity is key. Adding CALMFLOOR to its toolkit means McNamara Salvia can help more clients hit performance and carbon goals – all while unlocking design freedom and avoiding costly overengineering.

“We’re delighted to have McNamara Salvia on board as agents,” said Steven Senior, COO at CALMFLOOR. “From our early collaboration on the F1 Arcade project, we knew this was a partnership capable of delivering far-reaching results for our shared customers. We share a commitment to harnessing technology that transforms building performance and, judging by the conversations we’re already having, the future looks very exciting indeed.”

Omer Tigli, Vibrations Group Director at McNamara Salvia, agreed the partnership is a significant step forward.

“I’ve been following the research work behind Calmfloor since the late 2000s and was very excited when I learned about its commercial launch,” he said. “The potential of CALMFLOOR to address complex structural vibration problems is truly amazing. I had the opportunity to test and collect data with CALMFLOOR on one of our projects in 2022 and witnessed its performance firsthand. F1 Arcade Boston was the first major project where we recommended CALMFLOOR to our client and it turned out to be the ideal solution for the issue. This success naturally led us to formalize our confidence by entering into an agency relationship – I look forward to many more successful projects with CALMFLOOR.”

A better way to build

With growing demand for sustainable, high-performance buildings across sectors like healthcare, science and commercial development, the need for smarter vibration control has never been greater. With McNamara Salvia’s insight and CALMFLOOR’s active vibration tech, we’re unlocking a smarter way forward for the built environment.

From retrofits to new builds, this partnership is about progress – helping architects and engineers meet tough vibration standards without compromising on carbon, cost or creative vision.
